Wonton Soup

  • 18-20 wonton wrappers
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 green onion, finely chopped
  • 2 pitches of pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • water for boiling wonton
  • 5 cups chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 cup bean sprout or thin slice of bok choy

Cooking Method 
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground pork, soy sauce, cornstarch, and sugar
  2. mix well and let stand for 30 minutes
  3. place a wonton wrapper on your palm. Put 1 teaspoon of wonton filling in the center, gather the corners of the wrapper with the other hand and give it a twist in the middle to close the wonton. repeat until the filling is used up
  4. boil the wonton: put water in a pot bring to boil, add the wonton's
  5. stirring gently so the wontons don't stick together
  6. continue boil until the wonton's are cooked and float to the surface
  7. with a hand strainer get the wonton's out set aside
For Soup:
  1. add the bean sprout or bok choy and cook for 2-3 minutes then transfer with a hand strainer and set aside
  2. add the chicken stock into a pot and bring it to boil and salt, and pepper powder to taste and set aside
  3. add the wontons and bean sprout or bok choy in the server bowl and pour the soup then spring green onion on top then serve
